OMAR ZAHER AND JEFFERY DURKIN JOIN SKAL AT THE SEPTEMBER DINNER
 
Jeffery Durkin Omar Zaher
Returning to Skal after a several year hiatus, Omar Zaher was once
again inducted but this time as Sales Manager, Travel in Style, an
agency obviously looking to Zaher's expertise in Egyptian travel.
Sponsored by Melita Thorpe and endorsed by the whole club, Zaher returns
to Skal in an exciting time for travel. Jeffery Durkin, General
Manager, Hilton Sonoma Wine Country Hotel, is new to San Francisco Skal,
having been introduced to the club by hoteliers David Iwamoto and Ralph
Lee. Perhaps our annual Wine Country Tour will take us into Sonoma
County next year. Welcome aboard Jeffery.
TWO NEW SKALLEAGUES INDUCTED AT JUNE DINNER
At the June dinner in the Basque Cultural Center, two new Skalleagues joined our ranks. Christopher Connors, Director of Operations at the Aquarium of the Bay, one of the exciting attractions at Pier 39, was introduced by Ray Sargoni and Terry Koenig.his sponsors; and David Chin, COO at Personality Hotels also received his membership documents having been introduced by one of his sponsors David Iwamoto. ED Chris Spirandelli conducted the formalities.
 
MARK EVANS - A NEW SKALLEAGUE
 
Mark Evans, Director of Sales, The Clairmont Hotel, Club & Spa, Berkeley was enthusiastically inducted into Skal at the May dinner at the Palace. Graciously introduced by Past President Kirsti Maki, pinch-hitting for Mark's sponsor Terry Regan, Mark received his Skal pin from President Tom Klein and his membership documents from Executive Director Chris Spirandelli, all pictured above.
We look forward to Mark's participation in Skal and perhaps to a future Skal weekend at the Claremont.

KRISHNAN MIGLANI INDUCTED INTO SKAL
AS A RESTAURATEUR, A NEW SKAL CATEGORY OF MEMBERSHIP
At the March Dinner, Krishnan Miglani, President & General Manager of the Zingari Restaurant in Hotel Donatello was inducted into the newly introduced membership category of Restaurateur. Krishnan has hosted several Skal dinners over the past years and is well known by many Skalleagues. Krishnan was proposed by Ray Sargoni who unfortunately could not be at his induction,and President Kirsti Maki officiated the ceremony ably assisted by Past President Melita Thorpe and Executive Director Chris Spirandelli.
